I poked around and here is my small blurb on when I went to see the Happiness Realization Party's so-called movie...

From 2006:

"So afterwards, we went to Shibuya to see the premire of this anime movie that I have seen posters for all around Tokyo. It was the first time it was shown with english subtitles. I was pretty pumped to see an anime in Japan. Little did I know that this would be the most ridiculous film I have probably ever seen in my long existance of viewing film. I will not bore you with details, but intice you with small details of the content of this 2 hour crazy weird Japanese movie.

OK, so, it was called "The Laws of Eternity" and I am not exaggerating. This film included the following: Thomas Edison, kids constructing a device to enter heaven and hell, angels, demons, an Aztec shaman called "God Eagle," the Japanese version of Heaven (THEY ARE STILL WEARING SUITS AND WORKING!!!), Helen Keller, Florence Nightengale, the guy who started the Toyota company (he apparently was an angel reincarnated), Guetenberg and the Chinese guy who invented paper (They were apparently previous lives of Thomas Edison), the River Styx (looked pretty peaceful, I was led to believe that it was black and dark and awful), more angels, Jesus Christ working together with Buddha and Confucius and ISSAC NEWTON?! HUH? It also included, the people of Atlantis, mermaids, unicorns, cheesy Japanese romantic songs, rainbows, spirit elevators, Mother Teresa and the Japanese version of Hell. Apparently in Hell Friedrich Nietzsche walks around saying "God is dead, god is dead, god is dead" and he works with Hitler, an army of mummy Nazis and a gigantic wholly mammoth robot that spits fire and smoke. Well, our heros go to hell and defeat Hitler's mammoth robot with their own giant robot of good and happiness. Hurray for Ryuta! Let the credits roll and GET ME OUT OF THIS THEATER!! Sorry if I ruined the ending for you! Hah! Absolutly crazy. These silly Japanese!

So, upon further research into the madness that I viewed I learned that that movie was based on some crazy Japanese religious cult book called the "Laws of Eternity." It turns out that it actually is like the Scientology of Japan. Wow. To think that some people actually take what I saw seriously is beyond me. I had no idea that I was paying for a whacko religious sermon. It was quite amusing though, in all reality I am quite glad I saw the film."

I saw the Laws of Eternity at a special screening in Shibuya about 4 years ago. You are talking about that batshit insane anime right? That was the craziest thing I have ever seen in my life. Giant robots fighting Hitler in hell (sorry, I mean Histler), and weren't the gods in heaven like Edison and the guy that started Toyota? I have an old blog where I talked in detail about this, email me if you want my take from back then...the HRP is my kind of crazy...
