One issue comes with all three stickers! What kind of bozo came up with that one, they could have tripled their sales easily!

Seriously, if you went back in time 6 years ago and told me that Microsoft would be releasing the console for otaku and Sony had the portable for otaku, your nonsense words would probably not even register in my mind.

For those who forget to mark their calendars: A new version of the first new Evangelion movie (You Are (Not) Alone) was released today. The new edition marks the first time the movie is available on Blu-ray (1080p, DTS-HD 6.1/TrueHD 6.1), and features new digital mastering as well as new footage. While the Blu-ray comes in a fancier case, the extras for both stay the same: ads and trailers for the movie, Rebuild of Evangelion 1.01, the promotional video for Angel of Doom, a recording script for 1.11, and news about the second new Evangelion movie, 2.0. Priced at 5040y retail for the DVD and 6090 for the BD.

Goth-rockers Asriel have their first album on a major label, unveil, out tomorrow, distributed by Geneon. It’ll feature their OP for Monochrome Factor, “Metamorphose”, as well as songs they did for Never7 and 11eyes. The band also has 8 self-released albums out.
I guess I had known somewhere in the back of my mind that Asriel were technically signed to a label, but it just seems strange that they’d release this album less than a month after their M3 doujin album release. I wonder if they’ll keep doing doujin alongside their work for the label, cause I have no idea how their Geneon handlers would react to that.

I’m somewhat settled down in my place for the next three months, so I’ll hopefully be updating again at some sort of regular pace, though maybe not as f5ing 2ch every 10 minutes as before. 20 minutes per f5 now. Anyway, I’m sure you can find out what happened in the crazy worlds of anime and manga in Japan over the weekend through other websites, so I’m just going to pretend that this weekend never happened so I don’t have to actually sort through the tab on my Firefox that says Google Reader (1000+). Peace.

Downtown DX and crossplaying K-1 fighters, two great tastes in one place.

Otherwise, a pretty news-light day.

Again, these might be brief – I’m eating pancakes in 20 minutes, then leaving on a jet plane.
Kawaguchi is jumping back into action barely a month after he broke his arm in a bicycle accident, and Zipang will continue its run in Morning with its 26th issue, released on May 28.

Mainichi is reporting that Morning 2 is preparing to offer the entirety of the next three issues of the magazine published on their website for free, followed by similar uploads with a one-month delay until 12 issues have elapsed. However, a special print-only booklet will be released alongside the next 3 issues of the 390-yen magazine featuring a creator-drawn parody of the magazine’s hit title Saint Young Men. It’s noted that when they previously offered issues for free with a month delay, they received 400,000 hits in 3 days, and their sales rose drastically, and they are hoping for a similar effect with their new experiment.
Morning 2 is released on the 22nd of each month, and its website can be found here. Information about the issue to be released tomorrow can be found here, for the time being. Click the 最新号を試し読みする button to read the issue once it’s out.
