The PC original isn’t the best version, but it is the only one you could sell for download. I wonder how well the translation is going to hold up over 11 arcs.

Kodansha’s Morning 2 to do Trial Run of Simultaneous Free Web Uploads of Full Issues

Thursday, May 21st, 2009

http://mainichi.jp/enta/mantan/news/20090520mog00m200060000c.html via 2ch

Mainichi is reporting that Morning 2 is preparing to offer the entirety of the next three issues of the magazine published on their website for free, followed by similar uploads with a one-month delay until 12 issues have elapsed. However, a special print-only booklet will be released alongside the next 3 issues of the 390-yen magazine featuring a creator-drawn parody of the magazine’s hit title Saint Young Men. It’s noted that when they previously offered issues for free with a month delay, they received 400,000 hits in 3 days, and their sales rose drastically, and they are hoping for a similar effect with their new experiment.

Morning 2 is released on the 22nd of each month, and its website can be found here. Information about the issue to be released tomorrow can be found here, for the time being. Click the 最新号を試し読みする button to read the issue once it’s out.

A 2ch poster found some strangely familiar pictures in the reader-submitted art section of the evening edition of the Kyoto Shimbun. A second poster bought a copy to confirm, and pictures were posted!

A poster on 2ch noted that since yesterday, the business hotel that he works at was getting a lot of calls asking if they got TV Saitama, the first network to air Haruhi. I guess they did, because 4 hours later he reported that the hotel just got booked solid! Now that is devotion.

I’ve got a lot of updates this morning and I want to eat lunch soon, so these might be a little short!

A daily 9PM JST (Monday-Friday) live broadcast on Nico Nico Douga will begin on May 25th (provisionally? I can never tell) entitled “Toriaezu Namachuu (Kari)”. Each day of the week will be on a different topic and will feature different hosts, mostly professional tv/radio announcers and talents. Monday will be “Girl’s Talk” day, where girly things (fashion, love, food) will be discussed, Tuesday will be news, Wednesday music, Thursday games and anime (hosted by May’n!) and Friday will be basically anything Rika Satou wants to talk about. Yasuhiro Yoshiura, the director of Pale Cocoon and Eve no Jikan will be on the first anime/game show on the 28th, so set your clocks bright and early to catch the broadcast!
